"Me" Montage
So the first project for my advanced editing class is supposed to be a montage about ME. I don’t really have any of the specifics on it yet, but I wanted to get a jump start and take a poll about the most important part of any personal montage…the music. I’ve narrowed it down to a top SEVEN (impressive seeing as it started at like 30) and I want help narrowing it down even more...
Wolcott High Class of '81
I just looked through my mom’s high school yearbook.
At least 50% of the faculty/staff there was still around when I was going to Wolcott Schools (another 25% had moved on to run for town council…the last 25% was too old to still be alive).
And I went to school with the offspring of at least 30% of the males (harder to tell with females, as they’ve all married and changed...

My advisor sent me a very discouraging email about...
He said he spoke to his contact there, who said they had 9500 applicants and 75 slots.
I responded to the email by saying “It’s okay, I’m applying to CMT, MTV, ABC, and NBC so I have a few backups.” He’s going to know I mean business.

CMT
I think I want to apply to the CMT internship. I mentioned that I looked at it to dad and the fact that it didn’t provide housing and he was just kinda “no comment” about it. Mom would be the decision maker on that one. I plan on bringing it up at least, next time I see her, but I’m curious…if I applied…and got it…There would have to be some way to afford...

I’ve buried my Asianness. Like the only reason that any stranger would have had to believe that I’ve got Japanese blood in me, on impact, was my darker hair. Like I’d tell people I’m half-Japanese and they’d squint their eyes and size up my pudgy frame and white skin and big round eyes and go, “Oh… Oh, yeah, I can totally see it. Like in your hair.”
Except my mom’s...

LEGIT been waiting for this since junior year of high school. You can’t even imagine the weight that just floated right up off my shoulders.

I am incredibly excited for this semester.
I get to use all three of my production classes to put together one phenomenal demo reel. I’ve already started coordinating and working on the format. It’s going to be one dvd that I can hand to ANY potential employers/clients and have it just be everything. Editing, graphics, dvd design, cinematography, studio production, lighting, producing, oh god I’m going to have so much fun...
